We’ve been babysitting a K5 Blazer for the past two years. It’s sweet and ridiculous all at the same time. Fire it up and you can feel it deep in your chest, low and rumbling, like something awesome and terrifying is about to happen. It costs more than a market day of sales to drive it around Centralia on a joy ride, but with the top down on a summer day... it's priceless.
This morning, our charge wouldn’t start. As much as we love him, she's not our baby, and we stood around wringing our hands, thinking about what to do, much like well-intentioned folks do when a baby starts to cry.
Albert spent an hour under the hood and under the truck with a YouTube tutorial pulled up, while Obie supervised from about zero inches away — which is to say, he was no help at all, but morale was high and we were hopeful.
We got it running again. Eventually. Thanks Obie.
